  INNOVATIVE WORK For  II phase Teaching Practice 

INTRODUCTION 

An innovative work can be defined as a new idea, device or method". It is something original and more effective and as a consequence new that 'breaks into the pupil. Two interesting dimensions of innovation including degree of novelty and type of innovation. Innovative work should be a catalyst to growth. Innovation may be linked to positive changes in efficiency, productivity, quality, competitiveness and intellectual development. Through innovative work the teacher can improve students performance by providing group work opportunities and resources to innovate. It is necessary to create and nurture an environment of innovation.

         Teaching of mathematics is not only concerned with the computational know- how of the subject but is also concerned with the selection of the mathematical content and communication leading to its understanding and application. So while teaching mathematics one should use the teaching methods, strategies and pedagogic resources that are much more fruitful in gaining adequate responses from the students then we have ever had in the past. The role of innovative work is very important in mathematics teaching. In order to teach a lesson innovatively, the teacher must use lot of pictures, games, models and songs. In teaching learning process the role of innovation work is very important. It makes the class interesting. Innovation work is one of the effective method for teaching difficult lesson easily. So in mathematics education the role of innovation work is very helpful, useful and effective.

  As the part of BEd curriculum demands to do innovative work. For that my innovative work is based on the chapter " Decimal Forms" in 9 th standard mathematics textbook. The present innovative work is an attempt to make an idea about the conversion of rational number with denominator as the power of 10 into decimal form. Also I assure the effectiveness of the work in learning through proper feedback from students.

OBJECTIVES 

The main objective  of this work are:

1) All students should be able to understand the concept of decimal forms.

2) Enable student to understand the conversion of rational number into decimal forms.

3) All students should be able to understand the conversion of a rational number with denominator as the power of 10 into decimal form.

4) All student should get clear idea about how to convert  a rational number with denominator as the power of 10 into decimal from.

5) Enable students to recognise the importance of powers of 10 in the conversion of rational numbers.

6) To identify what were the mistakes they made while the conversion of rational number into decimal form.

7) To increase students interest in mathematics

8) To avoid confusion in the conversion of rational number with the denominator as the power of 10.

INNOVATIVE WORK UNDERTAKEN

As the part of teaching practice phase ll, I adopted an innovative qork based on the second chapter " Decimal Forms" in  9 th standard textbook. My work is a conversion model consists of rational numbers with denominator 10 and its decimal forms. The rational number taken as 1/10,2/10,3/10.....10/10. Its conversion make it more attractive with some creative ideas This conversion of rational number helps students to understand its decimal forms. They can also convert other rational numbers with denominator as the powers of 10.

STEPS FOR THE WORK

Material Required

1.Card board

2.colour paper

3. Scissors

4. Fevicol

5.Glue gum

6. Syringe

7.Transparent pipe

8.Sketch pen

9.Ink

Steps

1.Cut the cast board lengthwise and wrap it witha coloured paper, and write the rational number 1/10,2/10,3/10...10/10  on it.

2.Similarly take another large cardboard of size 40cm× 20cm and wrap it with a colour paper.

3.Firstly prepared cardboard should pasted below of the large cardboard

4. Take one syringe and fill it with ink  then connect a transparent pipe to it.c

5.Connect  its other end to another syringe.

6.Stick the syringe on the large cardboard and the sticks a small piece of cardboard with decimal forms of the previously wrote rational numbers written on it.

7. Glue the second syringe to the back of the large cardboard.

8. When you press the syringe on the back, you will see the cardboard with decimal forms moves down.

EXPERIENCE OF THE TEACHER TRAINEE

As the part of our B.Ed curriculum in 4th semester, I have done an innovative work based on my subject mathematics. It was based on the chapter "Decimal Forms" from class 9 inorder to get clear idea about the conversion  of rational number with denominator as the power of 10 into decimal forms.This helps the students to understand the concept in the chapter very well. I include only the conversion rational numbers to its clecimal forms with the help of denominator as the first power of 10. It helps students on the conversion of rational number to its decimal forms.

       I showed this work in class after being taught the topic related to the conversion of rational number with the help of 10. Students take the work and accepted with excitation. They keenly observe the working model and understand the concept based on it. Also students get clear idea about the the concept. They asked some doubts related to the topic. I explained the concept with the help of the working model. It provide a quick revision to the students. The role of innovative work is very important in students learning. They accept my great satisfaction. This makes me more with more happy. I could notice a change in their attitude for studying.They enjoyed and studied the contents related to the model.

    The biggest challenge any teacher faces is capturing the students attention and putting across the ideas in such a way that it stays with them long after they have lost the classrooms. For this  to happen, classrooms experience should  be redefined and innovative ideas that makes teaching learning methods more effective should be implemented.

CONCLUSION

Innovation work helps the teacher to teach something effectively. Here we can increase the interest of the pupils and also can avoid rote learning by this working model. The use of innovative methods in the classroom has the potential not only to improve education, but also empower people.This type of innovation methods and creativity techniques has important role in mathematics teaching and learning by this we can gain the interest of the pupils and also the students to learn mathematics very interestingly.

വെട്ടിക്കവല GMHSS ൽ ലോക ലഹരി വിരുദ്ധ ദിനവുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട് വിവിധ പരിപാടികൾ സംഘടിപ്പിച്ചു. ലഹരി ദിനത്തിന്റെ  പ്രാധാന്യം കുട്ടികളിലേക്ക് എത്തിക്കുന്നതിന്ബ്ലി വേണ്ടി അസംബ്ലി ,പോസ്റ്റർ പ്രദർശനം, ഫ്ലാഷ് മൊബ്, റാലി,  എന്നിവ ഇതിനോടനുബന്ധിച്ചു നടത്തിയിരുന്നു.കൂടാതെ ബോധവൽക്കരണ ക്ലാസും ഇതുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട് സംഘടിപ്പിച്ചിരുന്നു.

The session started at 10 am. All the staffs were gathered there and teacher trainees were shared their experiences in school during this week.

Next Bency from SNSMHSS, Ellampalloor shared that her lesson plan was lag little because she couldn't get enough classes to teach. Next Aparna from MTHSS, kottarakara shared that they adopted a new strategy improve ther language skill in Communcation. Next Kalyani from MGD Boys HS, kundra shared that students were much to better in discipline because of the new influence of their new HM. Next Jishnu from SKVHSS, Trikkanamangal, shared that his mentor teacher was so supportive and helpful. Then Abhi shared his experences in school during this week. He shared about celebrations that conducted as a part of reading day. Next Drishya from SGHSS kottarakara shared that there were no concerned teacher for a particular subject. Next Sneha Shared that She could improve also classroom management skills her teaching.

Jessy from KNMM VHSS, pavithreswaram, shared that the students were so supportive and interactive. She also shared that her optional teacher told good opinion about teaching during observation. Next chinchu from MAMHSS, Chengamanadu, shared that she could impose her classroom management skills by maintaining discipline. Next sooryachithra from MGVHSS, perror shared that the students were with disciplined due to the influence of new HM the also pointed out the administration of new HM. Her mentor teacher blamed her and also she also couldn't chack her lesson plan. Next Athira Shared that the celebrations that conducted regarding to reading day. Next Noora Bom MTHSS, Mynagapalli, shared that student's are very supportive and well disciplined. Next Sruthi from MTHSS, Valakom shared that they are always busy with substitution Period. So they couldn't get enough time to complete their work.  Next Leethu from Boys HSS, Adoor, shared that she hould take eleven lesson plan in this week. She also pointed out that sometimes she had faced some problems in classroom management. Next Rajimol from GHSS, kuzhimathikkadu shared that the celebrations that conducted regarding reading day and yoga day. Nest Gayathri from GHSS Muttara, shared that she could take eleven lesson plan and also she mentioned the problems faced by her peer Anjali on classroom management Skills: Next Anjana from GHSS, Boys shared that the problems faced by her during teaching learning process. She also pointed out that she could improve her classroom management skills. Next Gopika from MTHSS, Arumurikkada shared that the celebrations that conducted in school. Then  Riju sir gave some suggestions for improvement in teaching learning process. Then Leena Miss, Swathi Miss shared during observation of class experiences. Also gave  some suggestions that can be implemented in teaching-learning process.The session ended at 12pm.

Optional reflected started at 2pm under ther Supervision of Dr. Leena Vahid. Firstly. Amalkumar from MTHS, Valakom shared his experiences in school during this week. He mentioned about the celebrations that conducted as a past of reading day and yoga day. The Roji from Same School, shared that she has to take pt period also. Next Sruthi from same school, shared that they couldnot get any free because of the substitution periods. Next Laya from St Mary's shared that she could manage the class very well. Next Sneha from same school, shared that the celebrations that conducted as per reading day and yoga day during this week.

Next Bency from SNMHSS, Ellampalloor shared that the celebrations that conducted during this week. She pointed out that she wants to put a unit test for the first chapter. Next Aswathy from MGHS,kottarakara Shared that she was asked to check their bills and their related accounts. Next Neena from same school shared that they did not get enough time to do their work.Next I from GMHSS Vettikavala shared the special assembly for reading day and also an assembly conducted for gave an awareness about viral fever as per government order. Next Anju J from same school shared that the special programs that conducted during this week. Next Jishnu from skv, thrikanamangal shared the experiences in school during this week. വെട്ടിക്കവല GMHSS ൽ ജൂൺ 21 അന്താരാഷ്ട്ര യോഗ ദിനത്തോടനുബന്ധിച്ചു യോഗ ചെയ്യുകയുണ്ടായി. 10 ക്ലാസ്സിലെ കുട്ടികളാണ് യോഗ ചെയ്യിപ്പിച്ചത്.

    വായന ദിനവുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട് ജി എം എച്ച് എസ്. എസ് വെട്ടിക്കവല സ്കൂളിൽ പ്രത്യേക അസംബ്ലി ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. JRC കുട്ടികളാണ് അസംബ്ലി നടത്തിയത്. രാവിലെ 10 മണിക്ക് തന്നെ അസംബ്ലി ആരംഭിച്ചു. വാർത്ത, ചിന്താവിഷയം, ക്വിസ്, പ്രതിജ്ഞ എന്നിവ  ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.വായനയുടെ പ്രാധാന്യത്തെപ്പറ്റി പറയുകയും ചെയ്തു.

As a part of BEd Curriculum, Our optional reflection on Second phase of teaching practice. had held in mathematics class in 17/06/2023, saturday, under the Supervision of Dr. Leena vahid. The session started at 10am. All of us shared our experiences during this week in School.

First of all, Sruthi from MTHSS valakom, shared the experiences during this week in School. She pointed out that she didnot get enough period to teach the students, because of the selection of NCC students were engaged with its Selection. Next Roji from same school, shared that She Could not manage the students well due to the hyper active character of students. Next Amal kumar from Same School Shared that his students are Provoking and irritating throughout  the class. Leya from School St. Mary'S kizhakkekara, came forward and shared her experience in school. She got a students  of maintaining discipline and good character; So she could manage the class Very well. Next Sneha from Same school, Pointed out that the students are very vibrant and hyper active. Next Aswathy P Das shared that she could take five lesson plan well. Nest Neena shared that the classroom was in between the U P classes, there was a noise in classroom. She shared that it was difficulty for her in  taking class.

Next Bency from SNSMHSS, Ellampalloor, shared her experiences that her students are hyper acive and provoking  she used some techniques to manage the students well.Next Amalendu from same school, she shared that the Students are very cooperative and interactive, so that she could manage the classroom well. Next Renjitha from SkVHSS, Thirikanamangal, shared that she would take five lesson plan very well. Next Chris from Gout Boys kottarakara, shared that he got  Govt.BoysHSS a different experience in govt school. Now be could manage the students well. Next Jacob from same school, shared that he could not find any intimacy students are or attachment towards students.  They are very irritating and Provoking.

It includes the vegetable garden, Online exam conducted by RBI and Education Department.  Next Aneesha from the same school shared that  could teach IT in class VIIIA and also put ditation in class VIII C. As a part of BE.d Curriculum 2021-23, the first genaural reflection on second phase of teaching Practice, had held in College Seminar hall in 10/06/2023, Saturday The session was led by Riju sir and alber staffs also gathered there. It started at10 am. Leaders of 22 schools were shared their experiences in schools during this week.

       Firstly Athira from AEPMHSS, Erumpanagad came forward and shared her experiences during this week. She had taken one lesson plan Sucessfully. Next Manju from MTHSS, Arumurikkada shared her experiences and also got opportunity physical training period by implementing yoga to take classes.She also mentioned the supports of teachers and become a part of cultural activities. Next Gayatri from GHSS Muttara, shared her experiences that the students are vibrant and hyper active. So she had a problem  in managing properly. Ancy from  GHSS kuzhimathikkadu, Shared her experiences in Substitution.She could take two lesson plan during this week. In her school, there was a routine of Publishing chart in each month They got an opportunity to become a part of publishing chart of each month. Next Jessy from Boys HSS Adoor shared that a girl was taken admission in Boys School. In the history of that school, it was a memorable moment. She also got an opportunity to sort and the text books and also become a part of meal distribution. Next Amal kumar from MTHSS Vakkom, shared about the character of students.

Next Anjana from MTHS Mynagapalli mentioned got apportunity and also to become a part of library activities and the teachers are very Supportive and helpful. She also pointed out that Some of the students are unaware of writing letters and worde. Next Aranya from MGD Grls High school chared her experiences during the week. The also mentioned that students are disciplined and cooperative. She had taken almost two lesson plan and provide notes related to the lesson. Then, Ajeena from MGVHS peroor shared that Head Master played the lead role in all activities. Her presence influence the students very much.Then, Veena from MAMHSS, Chengamanad shared that the students were Vibrant and Provoking. She also mentioned that there were two IED students in school. Next, Merlin from KNNMV HSS, pavithreswaram, shared that she has to teach in  7 th standard also. She also pointed out the experiences during this week.

Next Shanti, from Govt Boys Shard about the active students. She had taken two lesson plan during this week. As a part of environmental day (June 5), there was a drama of SPC students. Next Ardra from EVHSS, Ellamanoor, shared ber experiences during this week. She also got a duty of noon meal distraction. Next Anju. V. Next Jacob from same schools Shared that students are little provoking. He also pointed out that he need to take much more effort for managing students. Next Amalendhu from SNSM HSS Elampalloor shared her experience.She mentioned about the activities that occurred during this week. Nort Bency Jose from same school showed her experience of managing her students. The students are very provoking and indisciplined. She also pointed out the support of teachers and Head Master.Next Neena from Same school also shared her experience during this week. Next Jishnu from same school also showed  his experience of this week that the support of teachers was very helpful for  teaching-learning process. II PHASE TEACHING PRACTICE: First Day

          രണ്ടാം ഘട്ട അധ്യാപന പരിശീലനം

2021- 2023 ബി എഡ് കരിക്കുലത്തിന്റെ ഭാഗമായുള്ള രണ്ടാം ഘട്ട അധ്യാപന പരിശീലനം 7/6/2023  ൽ  ആരംഭിച്ചു. വെട്ടിക്കവല ഗവ. മോഡൽ എച്. എസ്സ്. എസ്സിൽ ആണ് ടീച്ചിങ് പ്രാക്ടീസിന് പോയത്. കഴിഞ്ഞ തവണ പോയ സ്കൂൾ ആയതിനാൽ അപരിചിതത്വം ഒട്ടും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നില്ല. എന്നോടൊപ്പം 7 പേർ കൂടി അവിടെ പ്രാക്ടീസിനായി ഉണ്ട്. അനീഷ, അഞ്ജു, ഹന്ന, ലിന്റു, ലിജി, ആതിര, അഞ്ജലി എന്നീ അധ്യാപക വിദ്യാർത്ഥികൾ. എനിക്ക് 9 സി യാണ് ക്ലാസ്സ്‌ എടുക്കാനായി കിട്ടിയത്. 30 ദിവസത്തെ അധ്യാപക പരിശീലനമാണ് ഇന്ന് ആരംഭം കുറിച്ചത്.
